Leiden Essay Film Festival
From September 19 to 22, 2026, the second edition of the Leiden Essay Film Festival (le#) will take place—the very first Dutch festival entirely dedicated to the essay film. Over the course of several days, you’ll see more than forty films that blur the lines between fiction and non-fiction, featuring stories about power, migration, sound, science, and identity.
